    I've been doing that for a wile, though not for razor restoration but for wood working and the like, I made my own chainmail "gloves" from 3/16" (about) diameter rings of 20 guage copper wire, not as heavy duty, but looks awesome.

    I handsanded a nice hollow ground from 80 grit to 2000 grit.
    By the time I was done sanding, that blade was wicked sharp, and I suspect that I could shave with it, though not comfortable I suppose.

    Excellent work on the polish.

    Ok. Went to home depot and lowes. Nothing higher than a 320 grit. Where is a good source for the high grit papers you guys are using.

    Lector,
    for high grit wet/dry sandpaper try auto parts stores they often have up to 200 to 3000 paper in stock
