I´m really suprised about the Florena tube at the picture. Its an shave product, produced primary in east germany. I never had thought, that it is available in canada.
It's very easy to get around here, in the old "florena" form and the new "Nivea for Men" form.

    Hey Jacques,

Nice work!! Looks great!! And for your detractor(s), what do they know from grain? Guard the door; I hear a path being beaten there as I type.

florena is available in canada in walmart.

Nice detail work. Grain is a matter of taste and you have done a nice job. I'd love to see the spacer and how you finished the other side.

I also like the look of rounding the nuts but am finding I also like to disassemble and polish my razors on sundary night.
I am going to try sanding down my nuts as well (ack... that might hurt)

Your first is certainly better than my first.

    Welcome

Thanks everybody for your encouragement you are very kind.

Here are picture of the "reverse side" for those of you who are curious.
As you can see the "nuts" are still "unscrewable" for a quick take down.
I had to take the two tiny wrenchs to the bench and sand them down a bit so they could catch those thin nuts.

The wedge (not really wedge but straight) is made of "canary wood". It's like a zebra wood but lighter in color and the lines are not as dark.

My next project will be a Genco 6/8 with new scales in Amarante wood, a violet color wood, very hard…very hard to sand down.

I'll put pictures up when I'm done or take picture as I go along making them.

P.S. The Florina shaving cream is sold at Wal-Mart for 3,99$ and it is as good as 30$ plus soaps and creams.

Good job. I like the way you cut the profile on the hardware.

Definitely a nice job. The body shop has a shaving cream that is a step up on the Forena but it's quite a bit more pricey.
