    Default How do you know when a razor is too far gone?

    My dad just called me to tell me he found the straight that he used in college but the blade has a pretty significant divot in it. I don't have pics but he describes it as a 1/4" along the edge of the blade and about 1/16" "deep". What would such a razor need? Regrind? Hopeless? When I take possession of the blade later this month I will rustle up some photos...

    update:
    Judging by the fact that a bunch of folks have looked at this post and no one has replied, I am guessing that photos are a necessity lol
