The router table attachment seems to be the way to go for cutting out the scales. Thanks for all of the suggestions folks!

I like the router table. Don't know if I have room on the boat for it, but hey Cabo, anytime you want to try it out, let me know. I have a blade ready for some scales. I was thinking of making some out of teak.
