I left the blade in the walnut until it left a nice satin finish mine was 36 hours on the first blade and about the same on the second one...
The walnut should smooth up that finish and even it out...
That one looks as though there are some 220 grit or so scratches still pretty deep in there.....

Well I went back and handsanded the blade so most of that scratching is gone. Did 220, 400 really quickly which is what I wanted to avoid. There was no way the tumbler was going to take out those scratches if it hadn't made a difference after 24 hours. So now it is in the corncob and polish. We'll see what happens.
