Very, very nice! I just got a Morley, and it's off being honed. I also planned purpleheart for it.
Did you bake the wood before finishing? I have read that 30 minutes in a 250-275 F oven will intensify the purple color. The wood won't arrive until late this week.

Can’t say that I have ever baked my wood. Purple Heart will get a deeper purple if the wood is burnt. Something that happens if you spend too much time in one spot with a fin grit sander, or don’t move fast enough on the band saw. You are basically burning the oils in the wood.

Boy that looks nice. Being your first you have set the bar pretty high for future work. I love the purple heart scales. I have a shopsmith in the garage collecting dust I might have to drag it out when I get my house done. Mabe later this year.

Did you see razor number two, I did it in blood wood with a different scale cut.
You can use that shopsmith to turn some custom handles for your new espresso machine.

I'll be the proud new owner of this razor as soon as it arrives in the mail. Thanks again Dave!
