Default How to straighten a razor?

Hi I have a Ambalal 444 blade and made two sets of scales for it but when I assemble them I notice that the blade seems to go to one side. The holes are drilled very perpendicular (press drill).
After examining the blade I notice that it is bent. Form the tip of the tail and the tong it is straight then there is a slight bent from the end of the tong to the tip of the blade. The blade is not curved just a small bent where the tong meets the blade.

Can I correct this. I'm afraid of prying the tong ever so slightly in a vise. I don't know if the metal would brake or crack of just srtaighten out. Does anyone had this experience and what is your advise.

    Thanks

Razor steel is designed for hardness, so it's brittle. You may need to modify the scales or bolster from one side to get it to go in and out without hitting anything.

If the blade doesn't center in your scales, you most likely need to use a small washer on the mounting pin to correct for this.

Put the washer in on the opposite side from the side that is making contact when the razor is closed.

I had the same problem when I built my scales, and I couldn't figure out what was going on. I did a quick search on here and B&B, and came up with the washer solution. I installed the washer and now my blade is centered perfectly.

DON"T TRY AND BEND THE BLADE!
