    Default Scales,how to ...help !!!

Hi guys,i got a blade that i pay $7.00 for it,i sand it and polish it,it look very nice and shinny.

I get a set of Dovo scales but im not sure how to instal it.I got a pin,tow small washer and a very tinny washer wish i think is the lock for the pin.

    Now..how do i place all this ?

1- Should i place the 2 washers one on each side of the blade and then l lock with the tinny washer ..
2- Or should i place the blade in direct contact with the scale and then lock the pin ?

...and yes im new,is my first restauration and my spelling suxx...i know.

I'll go first to last in kind of a stacking order:

    Pin
    small or domed washer
    scale
    large washer
blade (make sure its oriented correctly)
    large washer
    scale
    small or domed washer
clip, cut or remove excess pin
peen with hammer, spoon or whatever - it'll probably take 100 taps to get you close to set.

    Now go do it....

Try peening with the spoon first before going to the hammer would be my advice for a first re-pin. I have had better luck that way. Good luk
