Thanked: 7Shorty
Hey guys - here's my latest restoration. I had an old blade with a bit of damage on the toe. I decided to make it a shorty. The blade was pretty rusty to begin with, and I left it with a satin finish. The scales are purple heart with a few coats of gloss tung oil that have been buffed out. The spacer is an old brass key. Here's a few pictures.

That's flippin awesome! I suppose it remains balanced since the scales are a similar length proportionally. Is the purpleheart heavy? Nice finish too!

Both razors look great, the shorty razor from the past week also looked super.
I never thought that I would look forward to chipping a blade. when I do I ewill make my own shorty.

Very nice! Did you just go really slow so as not to heat up the blade during grinding? Or do you have a water cooled setup?

Yeah anything over about 300 F can start to effect it. I really want a water cooled rig for grinding, they are just WAY overpriced. LOL
