Thread: JR Torrey Mass., 7/8 Barbers notch?

I purchased this razor and once I received it and inspected it i put it down! It has a Navy Banner on the blade but it's either off center or one side is flat. I can't look at it for more than 2 min., with one eye closed before it makes me start seeing things. I just can't tell which one, Flat or off centre?



Any thoughts? Oh and it's freaking huge for 7/8 blade, optical illusions all round.

You're right; it's wopperjawed alright. It might even be as bad as being skewhawed. It is big, tho'.

Looks almost like it was ground like a Japanese style blade?

You might have a wonderful shave on your hands there, buddy... I say hone it up and give it a test shave, you might love it!

I call my collection "dirty girls"... lots of patina, a few uneven bevels, one even has a slight bend in the blade... and it's my best shaver

If one side is flat, then you only have one side to hone. I think this razor has a story to tell.
