Thanked: 0Crown and Sword Scales...brainstorming
I'm currently working on several scales for a few razors I have. However I've decided I really like the crown and sword seal on the original black scales on my ERN Crown and Sword razor #1720...Unfortunately the original scale is broken at the pin and must be replaced....so I was thinking maybe someone here who has redone some of their scales might have an old set of scales just laying around. To be more specific I need the side with the actual the crown and sword symbol on it, the back scale is undamaged...so yeah if anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it, otherwise I am going to make scales for it out of oak burl in a couple weeks. Maybe I can even save the original crown and sword symbol on the old scales(carve them out in an oval shape) and inlay them on the scales I make...?(has anyone tried this??? has it worked for you if you have???) But now I'm just thinking out loud....I will also be reposting this as a WTB in the BST section....

It seems like it would be possible to save the existing seal and inlay it into your new scales, just make sure that you are accurate with your inlay technique and secure it with some epoxy and I think it would be fine. If you need any help with the inlay just let me know and I may be able to offer some tips that may help.
