    @albertpotash: I´m not stained the wood. Thats the natural grain.

    @Huskysibe: We will see...
    The screws make sense. What are you using for a pivot pin?

    Thanks,
    Bob

    I have never been more impressed by a set of wooden scales. Great job.

    Sorry, dont have pics. But in an other thread here in the forum, I explained, how I made this.

    http://straightrazorpalace.com/showt...ghlight=myrtle

    The time i needed - difficult to say. I dont worked in one process. Only for cutting the line between the two woods more than one hour. Carefull glueing the parts together - 1 hour (they can easily broken, if you do too much presure - or with not enough you have a wide glueline). Sanding with the dremel and with hand - 1 hour. A bath in the linseed-oil and 1 day drying - time to do other things Glue the parts of the wedge together, cut the wedge with the electric coping saw, drill the holes at the scales and the wedge, but tem together an make the wedge fit and shining - 1 hour. Seperating wedge and scales and put one week, every day at 7:00 am and 7:00 pm one coat of shellac at the scales.
    Assembly of the whole stuff with pinnig - 1 hour.

    Thats it.

    @RobertFontaine: Sorry, this will be my little secret this time

    Simply fantastic. It's especially nice how the two woods come together virtually seemlessly. It's reminescent of the quality of work vlad does.

    Definitely makes me want to get a scroll saw

    Do you think something along these lines would work?

    I doubt Buddel would tell you if he knew...

    I actually ordered one of these exact sets from them and should have them by the weekend. I'll let you know how it turns out.
