silver coloured rodstock?
coming to ask if anyone has a suggestion on type/where to get silver/steel coloured rod stock?
i'd love it if it were similar in properties to the brass. so far all i'ver ever used was brass. sometimes i think silver pins/washers would look nicer on a blade so thats what im looking into. i bought some steel 1/16 rod stock. looks great, went to use it and was sorely disappointed. its way too hard to both cut and peen. not the type i want to use for the somewhat delicate operation of peening/making pins.
i'd like it to:
1 - be able to cut it with small wirecutters/fleshcutter
2 - peenable without too much difficulty. i don't wanna pound on the scales/rodstock inorder to peen it. so it needs to be maliable like brass.
thanks for suggestions. if you have a link to where i can get some also that would be even more fantastic!
thanks much,
~J

You want 1/16 nickel-silver rod. Try a google search. I think I got mine from Texas Knife, but I can't remember. Click HERE.

kyle,
thanks much. once you said what i was looking for and the link i went and did some searching.
found this place.. http://www.sheffieldsupply.com/ they are 60cents a piece if buying 10. so thats what i did. seems a tad cheaper then the place you listed for your future buying. exactly the same 18% nickel/silver rodstock.
thanks again for the material type.
