Default Waldorf MOP Tang fancy scale to be restored

Here's one I got recently that REALLY tickles my fancy.
The etched blade and detailed scales are what I prize. There are mop covered tang that seems, to me, out of place with the color flow.
Do you think this is original?
I'll be getting a vibratory tumbler to try this nondestructive way of cleaning.

I'm not sure I should do this with the covered tang.
    What do youse think???
    Isn't this blade so cool!!!???

Thinking about it. I should NOT make this my first restore project. I should have some sacrificial razors to get my dremel, polish, scale work honed (all pun intended=API)
