Default My sanding setup first resto learning attempt :)

Here's a pic of my hand sand stuff. The bowl with the razors has mineral oil and razors..I'm using the soft foam type samder to follow the hollow. I'm using 150 wetdry foam Norton to start off with this razor. I'll try tongue depressors and pencil edges to get into the corners and edges. I remember, when I worked, that McMaster Carrhad a variety of abrasive cords and stuff.
I have some dremel stuff but figure to start hand first...It's old school and I came up old school...I'll learn if I'm being foolish not to be dremelling now....Tell me if you think so..
Can someone direct me to informative links for starting up???
I have Ellis' cd but misplaced it before lookin at it...DUH!!!!

Here's a couple of links I've found helpful:
Bruno's Hand sanding Howto, and Bill Elli's safety jig probably more of a interest when Dremeling, but it's nice when hand sanding too.

Vlad is without doubt in my mind a restoaration demi god, and my skills pale next to his.
It was that thread that gave me the idea for my own hand sanding device.

Sadly he hasn't hung out here for a long time. Real life...

I've read quite a few of his posts, and it's truly amazing some of the stuff he did, it's really fascinating.

Before my next sanding attempt, I'll make myself a sanding device, along the lines of yours.
