    Default Newbie Issue

I have just recently gotten into restoring razors and have run into a problem I am not sure how to fix. I sanded and polished the blade till I think it looks decent enough, made the scales, used CA to finish them then drilled them. I created the wedge like describe in Bill's CD then pinned it all together. The tail pinned together ok but when I went to pin the blade in it is terribly off center. After a bit of checking I noticed the sides of the tang are not parallel so when the when the scale is tightened it forces it off center. How do you fix this? Should I try to grind the tang down to be more parallel or is there a pinning trick to fix it?

Try using a washer as a bearing between the scales and tang on the side opposite where it closes closest to the scales. That make sense? If that doesn't help, report back lol.

Normally when you pin razors isn't there a small washer between the blade and the scales? So this would like 2 on one side and one on the other?

Sometimes there are and sometimes there aren't. You can experiment and see what works one on each side (i.e. 1:1), 1:2, 0:2, 0:1 etc. See if it helps.
