    Default Awapi

Honed this up and put it together for a member here who needs a razor with a sharp edge. I got to try out my 16k for the first time and it works exxxxxtreeemley!!! well.

I think the branded wapi's may be a harder steel than the unbranded ones that I've recieved previously. At least this one is.

The finish could be nicer. I tried to get CA to stick but after 20 or so attempts I gave up. Trying to get CA on top of an oil finish is self abuse.

The pin holes are a little off. I usually get this right but I'm a touch off centre with these.

I peened the spacer and used a machine screw on the blade so it's fairly maintainable. This is the first time I've tried shaping the spacer and I'm really quite happy with how it came out.

Nonetheless, it's the best I've done so far and is my gift to a member who needs a razor.

    -Bob

Very nice! I like the star-shaped pins.

Lucky guy who gets to start off with that! And darn nice of you, too.

I like the spacer. It gives it a western look like spurs on a cowboy boot.

Great job Robert!! I managed to pick up one of those marked Wapi's a little while ago too but haven't had time to hone her up. Glad to hear that you were happy with that one.......keep up the nice work!

Sweet job. I have one of the unstamped ones now and two of the stamped ones on the way from Poland. Hope I can get at least one of those to look as nice as this one.

This issue was discussed awhile back among those who had worked on many Wapis. I think the consensus was that there are inconsistencies among the stamped and unstamped blades -- no guarantee a stamped one is necessarily going to be any better.
