    It was me who had the homemade grinder. It looks like something the Professor made on Gilligan’s Island: Especially when you use wooden contact wheels, I have been happy with it so far I have learned a lot. It works well for satin finishes but I still need some hand sanding if I want to get a true mirror finish.

    I plan on doing a version II sometime in the future. A contact wheel that moves is not the greatest idea in the world. On version II I will have a fixed contact wheel and a couple of curved platens 4” and 6” radius so that I can do wedges.

    With a 1725 motor and a 3" drive wheel it runs about 1350 feet per minute.

    I will update my original thread with things that I have learned in the near future.
