8/8 Henckels Friodur diamond scallop back in Lacewood
I pinned my last Friodur tonight. The photos are poor, that darn kitchen light. I sanded the blade to get out most of the factory mill marks and took the blade to the buffing wheel to give it a near mirror shine. I mounted it in Lacewood scales with a high gloss epoxy resin finish. I pinned the blade with 1/16 brass rod with stainless washers with a brass washer over it for accent. I had to add a 3’rd pin and stainless spacer due to the width of the blade (these are big, wide, heavy blades). I used a matching Lacewood wedge. I think it turned out pretty good. I just need some daylight to get a decent photo.
Edit, See good photos further down the thread. :^)Last edited by cannonfodder; 04-14-2008 at 02:30 PM.

I'm not one to give very many compliments, but that is one
nice razor. Good luck with it........
BTW, Is Lacewood very difficult to work with?

Those blades shave super. I have someone that has expressed interist in purchasing it. If that does not pan out it will be going into the BST. I just enjoy making them.
Lacewood, it is not to difficult to work. It is pretty fibrous and will splinter. I don’t think it would be usable as turning stock.

Is there anything more breathtaking than a new polished razor in the morning sunlight? Maybe a sunset over the Rockies.
