Default My dremel is in the mail... i surrender ;P

So, Ive been hand sanding this red imp and at first i thought it was goin well. Then I realized that was just the outter most layer of grime. So, I called my momma back at home and asked her to mail me my dremel. I also need to be some 180 and 220 wetsand paper.. smallest that lowes and home depot had was 320 so.. im sure this would be much better with coarser grit so gonna buy some online.

yiks... Just my opinion... that blade don't look like it needs any lower than 400 grit... i would start with 600.
what grit are you using now?... and how long were you sanding the blade?

I was actually going to post something similar to this tonight, Chris, but you beat me to it. I picked up a cleaning/polishing kit for my dremel at Home Depot today for like 12 bucks, and was curious about more of the process of the polishing and such. What kind of compounds are recommended? The kit actually came with a small container of polishing compound, would this be any good to use? Can you use the dremel for taking off the rust and pitting, or is that not recommended?

If you are going to use a dremel or any other power tool, first try it on a junk razor. A dremel can do unrecoverable damage to a blade before you even know something is going wrong.

If you use it wrongly you will damage your razor for good, and also run the risk of catapulting a blade across the room.

I've just started to play with a Dremel for sanding blades, and built this to reduce the risk of blade catapulting, works great so far!
