    Default Restoraton help!

Hey guys I'm new to the forum here and tried poking around to find out some information on how to restore a straight. Unfortunately, I was unable to find anything that would help so I figured I'd ask for it...

    1. Can anyone give me some tips on how to restore a razor ( how to shine that sucker up)

    2. Do any of you guys restore razors for people? (maybe I'd rather have a pro do it for me)

Thanks for the help guys I'm still trying to post pictures of just what this forum has turned my sink counter space into!!!

    Welcome! glad you found us.

to answer you first question I'm directing you to the excellent sticky that Bruno and JoshEarl put together

there are number of folks that take in restoration work as an adjunct to the hobby. gssisgun, traveller, kenrup, joshearl, joe chandler to my knowlegde all do and they do excellent work... there are lots of others but those gents are the ones i can think of right now.

to post a picture first make surethat it is resized to no more that 700x700 and then select the "paperclip from the tools bar, browse to your image you can attach up to 10, then click the upload button and shortly the images will be upload to SRP and attached to the bottom of your message.
    Be just and fear not.

I think it's in the FAQ, but go to www.billysblades.com and look for his "straight razor restoration cd". Buying that will give you most of the answers to the questions you will have about restoring.

    HEY! and what about me
But atm I am not taking on more resto work. As soon as I get Mark's 7 day set out I will probably reconsider, but atm it would take too long before I can get started.

But to get back the the original question: check out the FAQ in this forum to get you started. Also I thought Joe Chandler was not taking on restoration work at present because he is swapmped with making customs.
