Steel Wool
Anyone tried wire wool for removing rust or polishing a blade?

Thanked: 13247The problem is not that it won't work it is just very non-user friendly
The strands catch on everything they possibly can, especially the end of a spike razor, and pivot pins, and jimps etc etc:
Of course this is JMHO and experience with it YMMV

Thanked: 22Works well when using shellac on timbers. I believe #0000 to be the very finest.
As Glen mentioned the stuff can be a real PITA, but might just be great.

Yes, I made a typo. MY stuff is the finest.
I used it when restoring/re-tipping Snooker Cues.
