    Default scales

I thought I would go back and give timber a go ,I`m getting sick of doing the MOP scales
Any way these are going to be hung on a large W & B shortly
The finish is simply a few coats of wax and the wood is Australian Beef Wood
    Kind regards Peter

Australian beef wood? I've never heard of it, but it looks fantastic! Is it a brittle wood or easy to work with?

Its not very common, even over here but it is a lovely wood and easy to work with . It`s very hard but dosn`t have any bad habits, splitting chipping etc, of the Australian woods hairy oak is the one to watch out for, great wood very hard ,beautiful grain pattern so forth and so forth but if you look at it the wrong way you will upset it and it will split
The pics are of hairy oak cut with , across the grain and end on. This is what the wood looks like with just a rough cut,you can imagine how it comes up sanded, polished and sealed
    Take care
    Kind regards Peter
