Thread: Pins?

Is there a good online source for pins (other than ordering the nifty threaded stuff at microfasteners)?

I've ordered the set from ClassicShaving but I'd like to order in a little more bulk. My local hardware store had some stuff.. but they were steel.

I'm looking at buying 1/16 of an inch brass rod.
Or, maybe nickel silver would look nice with ebony scales!

Believe it or not... Amazon has rods in their catalogue. That is where I ordered mine. Though I picked up the washers from microfasteners.

---oh yea, did some research. heh. I thought about being lazy and using brass nails that I found at home depot that were about the right size.


Now... just to make sure I have the procedure down for starting the pin.. I drill a hole/use a block.. drop my length of brass rod in there with a spacer.. then the rod sits in that hole (not run all the way through, of course), then I peen the end of the rod until it mushrooms nicely.. remove (using the spacer), stick my washer on.. then place in razor to do the other side (putting in the spacers in between the razor and scales if desired).. and then do the other side in the manner that I've been accustomed to with the dovo pins? Is there a youtube of the procedure?
