Default What can I use to clean a razor

I am new to straight razor shaving, and recently bought a new Dovo, imitation tortoise shell, full hollow ground. It has a small black mark on it, and I want to take it off. It will not come off with warm water and a soft cloth. What can I use?
    Thanks!

Flitz, Maas, Silvo or any chrome polish.

A pencil eraser will somtimes work too, then polish it as Kees said

    Default Really?

Silvo or chrome polish are safe for a straight razor?

Do you do anything to clean the silvo off when you're done in order to avoid facial contamination?

This will make polishes /much/ easier to find. :P
