Thanked: 0Dubl Duck Inlays on Wood
How do you get the inlays off a dubl duck and how would you apply them to wood scales so they look as if they are in the wood?

Thanked: 13245You get them off using Acetone as to putting them back on it is an art form
Floppyshoes and I are in the midst of doing a combined thread on how we do them.....
The acetone will dissolve the celluloid so be careful using it, make sure you don't want the old scales....Last edited by gssixgun; 08-21-2008 at 11:57 PM.

be careful with the inlays because they are very thin almost like a brass foil. They can be damaged very easily.

I think Vlad put them on using successive layers of CA until there was a smooth finish from brass to wood. I'm very keen to see how these restos work out!
