    Default advice on stain removal

On one of my blades, a Robert Klaas 6/8 there are some small black (water)stains.
The blade is in a satin finish, with a gold washed logo.
Is there any way to remove the spots, but keeping the finishing intact?
The spots aren't anywhere near the edge.

If I take 00000 wool or Peek polish to it, I suppose it will turn to a mirror finish, so I would have to polish the entire blade, and loose the satin finish.
    Thank you.

I've never tried it myself but I've read somewhere that a pencil eraser will rub off spots like that.

depending on the type of polish you use, you could still retain the mirror finish. In general though, you have the right idea. You will likely have to give something to get something.
