Thanked: 13245A inexpensive hone setup for Restorations
I am putting this in the restoration forum because for just general honing there are tons of ways to go..
For fixing e-bay and antique store junkers you need a little more aggressive setup and this one for $120 is hard to beat... This is not the only way to go, there are other paths to follow, like Diamond hones etc: but this sure is a easy one.....
Amazon.com: Norton Waterstone Starter Kit: 1) 220/1000 grit stone and 1) 4000/8000 grit stone, 1) SiC flattening stone: Home Improvement
I'll be honest and tell you that I use mostly Shaptons now but that is quite an investment in stones unless you are honing a lot of razors...

Thanked: 4942This set up is a pretty good deal. All you need then is a polish stone or some pastes to get started.
