    Default My first Restor

Ok this is my first ever restore, what do you think (B nice)

(The original is the top one in the first picture, my current collection.)

Scales are jarrah (an Ozzie timber). I was so desperate to complete the restore that i ended up making the washers (like my method?) I have just received some correct sized washers from a guy in England, but i couldn’t wait . Actually i told a guy in the hobby shop what i wanted and he came up with the idea.

O and the black in the 'finished product' pictures is my second ever restore (Much more simple)

And the last pic is my next project

Congrats on your first. Good fun eh mate ?

Nice looking razor. What make ? What finish on the scales - CA ? What are the old scales ? - plastic or bone ?
Can I have them if they're bone ?
Hope you didn't bust your sawblade on that Jarrah Kinda hard stuff eh?

Very innovative on the washer manufacture. Off to a good start.

You're next one looks like a bit of a challenge but might be a diamond in the rough.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

    Tongue oil, on the scalses.

It says 'THE TORRY RAZOR CO' on the tang, and somthing ' ...TER MASS' bellow that.

The old scales are plastic (did the hot pin test)

    And thanks

I like it. Can you elaborate on how you made the washers and pins?

It looks like you used the dremel as a make shift lathe...am I correct?

Dremil bit ('mandrel' i think) for a cutting wheel. I drilled out some brass slid a couple of peices on, instead of the cutting wheel, and switched it on and pressed it against some sand paper. I might put a detailed thread up on it once i refine it a bit. (with more pics)

    Very nice work, sir!

The jarrah wood looks gorgeous. Presumably, it is one of your native hardwoods
