Scales made from Window Shutters
For quick scales replacement-use wooden window shutters (blinds). These slats are thin real wood or faux wood in any kind of finish. Get them at custom window blinds stores or use sample or scrap pieces. About 1/8 inch thick and are already stained or finished= A real quick-fix. They are cheap and easy to work up. Most of them are of stiff enough wood to make a usable set of scales. Clear coat them for long lasting durability. The price is right!

Shutter Scales
Here is a primitive photo of a primitive quick-fix. A cheap camera for a cheap trick. I am satisfied and am waiting for the clear coat to dry. The blade was scotch-taped during the rig-up. It has a good heft to it. Notice-THREE RIVETS (copper nails peened). I told you it is good for the price! Just some good fun to make a mousy little razor do good in this world.
