    Default microfasteners

    Three questions regarding microfasteners:

    1. What size bolt and nut should be used to replace the traditional 1/16 brass pin?

    2. Looking at the Microfastener website, I see that they offer brass nuts in two profiles. Which should be used on a razor?

    3. Can microfasteners appropriate for str8 restoration be found at a hobby shop and purchased a few at a time as opposed to ordering 100 at a time online?

    Thank in advance.

Hobby shops may or may not have them but you will probably pay the same price for 100 shipped for about 10.

    Yup.

I have bought them at a local hobby shop, who sells them to the model train folks. But they're expensive as all get out compared to the website.

I'll have to check this out. I have a cotter pin in my new teak scales. I ordered from microfasteners but dang-it-all if they aren't to short! And I thought I ordered the "too long" ones. The guy that made my scales did leave them a little extra thick though. Also, I think the size I ordered ended up being 1/32 not 1/16?
