Thumbs up Great small Vice !

So I am at Sears still looking for friggin 2000 grit sand paper... with no luck.... again

BUT I did come across a great find. It's called the Hobby Vice by craftsman. $29.99.

It suctions to any surface. Namely my coffee table and YES is is stable and solid. If your limited on room and don't have a workshop other then the makeshift area while the misses is away this is a great item ! It swivels and moves into any postion you need and holds solid. As well it has rubber grips covering the bite.

Also, the coller you see loosens so you can swivel the vice in a full circle and that notch turns seperatly as well to give you full control of the angle and position.

    I attached some photos

PS... it's a Torrey in there before you ask lol

    Nice vice! Looks handy.

And you'll get the high grit sandpaper at an autobody shop, not Sears.

Ive been to all the local ones !!!... ****ing me to no end ! Its like the enternal seach by me for some reason.

PS... and as you can see the vice is actually on the edge of my table where its wood and the rubber bottom that suctions is hanging over a little and it is still rock solid.

Try Walmart in the auto body section - they always have them handy.

The reason I ask is it looks rather unsafe to me on many levels. However I will say that almost anything is safe when you are in the correct state of awareness.

LOL... Yea it does look rather menecing sitting like that on the table. But the lower half of the blade and edge area I use the sandpaper on a stick .... NO FREEHAND SANDING... that is not a pretty picture.

As well the vice allows the exact angle for the sanding I am doing on it at that moment. It is so easy to adjust and change around.
