Thanked: 1Anyone know of a good liquid form of plastic? I'm trying to get some mix and pour and it looks like acryllic is the only one? Can polycarbonate be poured or is it only available in sheet form? What about the liquid epoxy resin? I lack powertools or any tools for that matter and would rather pour scales then cut them. Any help is appreciated! Thanks. Those polycarbonate scales look great!

Check out Smooth-On - Mold Making and Casting Materials for a World of Applications!
I looked into it once and it seemed to be a lot of trouble for what it was worth, but you could probably rig something up simply.

Thanked: 3164The 2-part acrylic stuff, especially the water-clear one, is quite brittle and shatters easily. Polyurethane resins are better from this point of view, being quite pliable and impact resistant. The PU clear is very pliable, though, unless additives are used with it, in which case it is no longer clear, so maybe it would suit a heavier/thicker type of scale to give it a bit more rigidity.
Regards,
Neil.

Thanked: 1Any chance of Traveller sheding some light on his materials? I just want to make one for myself but if it really is as inexpensive as easy as I've heard, I wouldn't mind making lots and lots. As far as dyes go I guess thats a whole other post.
Thanks
