    Default where do you get this kind of scale material?

    pretty handles, nothing special about the blade though. where can you get this stuff?

    I would assume it's celluloid. I suggest asking Traveller aka Gary Alfonso. The cast scales he makes are similar in appearance.

    If you want to foray into the arena of cast resin scales to approximate vintage celluloid scales, you can make a silicone mold of the scales, buy some clear epoxy resin, buy various colored epoxy appropriate tints and start practicing and learning how best to get those types of designs.
