Thanked: 74How big do I need to make my divit?
I need to put some divits in the top of my anvil for holding the pin while I am putting razors together. In Philadelph's video he shows them (at the beginning of the second vid), but does not make reference to the sizes of these divits.
I was thinking about a 3/8ths divit? Is that too big or about right?

I made my divot with a 1/4 bit, it is only as deep as the tip. I stopped drilling before the sides of the bit reached the surface. Just a divot not a hole.

Thanked: 174I haven't watched anybodies video. Sorry.
Most of these things are touchy feely and you need to practice before you attach scales.
One of the members keeps saying try first to join two ice scream sticks together.
You will learn more about the need for a solid metal base, how hard to hit the metal and how short to cut the pin just by one trial than any video will ever tell you.
Try it and then you can make a video.
No disrespect to Philadelph.
