    That's got such an unusual tang. Even if the pitting won't come out completely, it can still look great.

    I agree. It is possible that without a ton of sanding you won't get all of the pitting out, but IMO that's just character.

    Sorry for digging up buried threads...but... Thank you for writing the stamped words in your post. I am almost 100% confident that a razor that I acquired in a large lot originally had an identical stamp on it's tang, based on my razor's "D FOR // STATES" . In my opinion, your filed tang probably occured later. I bet yours also originally had horn scales on it like mine.

    Whatever became of this blade? Looks like a real beauty and I agree - the pitting on this one would be character that goes along nicely with the tang work. Almost an adition to the sculpting. Pretty hard core!

    I reground it for him, but haven't seen what he's done with it since. He's been MIA.

    That is a fantastic looking blade. I think as long as the pits don't interfere with the edge they will just add character.

    I have just been busy with work. This razor is awaiting scales and will be given to my boss as a gift. How old do you think the razor is?
