    Default my first project razor

    oooh nooooo I just won my first snipe... its crappy ebay razor...J.A. Henckels #50 ... I liked the blade and thought I would give it a go on a minor restoration..

    I think I payed a bit too much for a project razor but I think it will pay off..

    It needs quite some honing and some new scales but other than that I dont see a problem..

    I think you did good. I also picked up a Henckels 4/8 for a project. My blade is blued. I will clean up and hone but the scales will probably stay as is. I don't consider the price you payed too much. The antique shops around here sell blades for anywhere from $15-$50 plus tax of 7.5%. Good luck, don't forgett to show us the finished product and describe how it shaves.

    Once you've got it cleaned up & rescaled you'll be grinning because you got it cheap! It looks very decent. Small chip to the spike, but that looks like the worst of it. Enjoy the project & aim high!
