    Default Fancy Washers/Pins

I've seen some razors posted here with ornate washers/pins. Are these mostly handmade or is there a source for them?

    Thanks,

I think most of them came from the original scales.
Curious for such a source too though...

There is an unlimited source, it's called the imagination

Most of what we do are either from Microfasteners.com or other such suppliers of tiny washers, along with 1/16 Brass or Nickel Silver rod...
What we do with those washers is all imagination...
The really intricate collars that you have seen on some restores, come from Hobby and Crafts shops in their "beading" sections...

This guy is a great resource for closely authentic bullseye washers: CLICK HERE

I ordered some different sizes from him last year. He turns the washers individually on a small jewelers lathe. Technically they're not exact reproductions of the old bullseye washers found on many of the horn scaled Sheffield razors since those from what I've seen personally were punched and have a support washer underneath them; but, they're the closest to the real thing I think you could get.

I've only ordered the traditional style bullseye washers; I see he's branched out in offering some more ornate washers.

    Chris,
That guy has some great looking pins and washers. I went to his web page, but I did not see any way to order. How did you place your order?
    Regards,
    Bob

Here's how I bought from him.

    eBay My World - rose789pipo

Every couple of weeks he puts up some different packs.

I emailed him and he was very good to deal with. I ordered directly from him that way.

It would be nice to be able to find these, or something similar, for sale without having to bid and do the ebay thing.

Edit: Chris L - you posted your response above just before I submitted my sentiments about the auction sales. Thanks.
