Sorry to say that others have come up with this before you, as I recall old posts about using picks for wedges more than a year ago in this forum, but congrats on the idea anyway. If it's any consolation, in 5th grade I "invented" an electric motor that involved a two concentric rings of electromagnets. I had no idea that's how the damn things worked!
Anyway, it's always good to bring up ideas again for those who hadn't heard of it before!
