Couple that I am working on ....
I picked up a 5/8 W&B and a 5/8 Torrey at an antique store a couple of weeks ago (C$20 for the pair). Both had decent "bones" to them but need some work to get into nice condition (I am after nice looking shavers, not pristine shavers).
The W&B had quite a bit of tarnish, pitting, and a few rust spots. Also, as you can see (from my poor pictures) someone decided to do a hack job on the point and turned it into a very ugly round point.
I gave this one a very quick sanding to take the bulk of the mess off of it then took it to the hones to see how it would fair.
After getting past some bad metal it took a good edge and got to within shave ready (for me) quite quickly. I haven't taken any post pics yet as I plan to take back to the work shop to pretty it up some. I plan to restore the square point which will require shortening by approx 1/8". Also plan to swap out the discoloured yellow scales. This one has some potential.

5/8 Torrey
For the Torrey, I sanded out the pitting and rust spots (I did this with scales on). Started with 80 grit to get bulk of damage off blade. Then did a progression of grits: 120, 220, 400, 800, 1000, 2000, then polished with some Mass. For all but the 2000 grit I made drums for my dremel so speed the process up. Blade isn't mirror but close enough for me.

I took the Torrey to the hones this morning. I should have slowed down a bit before working my way through it as I failed to remember that there was a frown I needed to take care of.
I just did a leg hair test a few mins ago and have a hair popping heel and toe and a butter knife in the middle. Going to take care of this problem later this afternoon.
However, it should hone up nicely.
