    Also, I get it about the hook groove. I thought you meant that you were doing touch up on honed edge.

    Yea, nice recovery! You think maybe the blade was cracked already for that to happen by hand?

    I wouldn't be surprised, but if so it was a darn small crack, or maybe an internal flaw of some sort, because it wasn't visible while I was sanding & polishing...
