    Default Scale Repair

I have two razors with scales that need repair. One is my very first place razor, a Revisor which somehow developed cracks on both sides, near the top pin. One seems to go all the way through, but not all the way across. I have no idea how it happened, as I have never dropped it and I treat it very carefully. The other is one I just picked up on e-bay with a peac0ck design on the scale. This was seems to have had a fine crac when I got it but the piece broke right off when I tried to polish the scale. What can I use to fix them? Epoxy? Super Glue? Gorilla Glue? I'm assuming I'll have to remove the blade and repin them. Any advice would be appreciated.

The first one definitely looks like it cracked due to stress pressure at the pivot pin side. The yellow scales probably a mix of both stress, dry and oldness.
I see this happen many times. You could try a quality epoxy glue and be real carefull but sooner or later it will snap again. Once there's a crack it becomes a weak spot. Just my 02 cents.

+1 here. The best repair on these is new scales.

Bummer. Oh, well. I had to hear it. Thanks for the feedback. I'll start searching e-bya for compatable scales.
