I agree Ben, I looks natural the way you did it.
Ha! I dream of having a dremel! I have limited tools of use to this hobby.

I hope you also have gloves and goggles while you are cutting that back.

Goggles yes, gloves I will get before starting. Latex should be fine right?

@ Kees: I thought about leaving the crack and at least seeing how it does. My only issue it I can feel it with my nail and I understand that that's not good. I guess it won't hurt to try and hone out the chips and see how it performs.

IMHO you want to get rid of the cracks.I had crack turn into a large chip and it was not pretty. Also,in my opinion, you should stay away from a cutting wheel. These blades can be very brittle and it just sounds like it could be dangerous.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards just grinding it down. I can just imagine the cutting wheel destroying it more than I want.

Cutting wheels also generate a LOT more head than a grinding drum, at least on my dremel. I've done a fair bit of work with the orange grinding drums and have never had a blade get hot enough I was worried about damaging the temper. Cutting wheels, on the other hand, get things much hotter, at least in my experience.

I've never had a problem with heat and my cutting wheel, but then again I dunk the razor in ice water about every two seconds when I use it. If you are mindful of the heat issues and take precautions regardless of whether you think it needs it, you will be fine.

Give her the old heel cut. I think it would look very interesting.

For your viewing pleasure, I have included a virtual regrind.

Thanks Ed, that's what I was thinking.

Though this will be my first grinding attempt so it may not look as nice.

Hmmmm......I do have a few junkers sitting around, maybe I'll practice on them first.

It may be some time before I am able to around to this project. Thanks for all the advice, I'll post pics when I finally get around to it.
