    Default Cordless Dremel Model 8000

Has anyone used the 8000? The reviews say it has the same poser and speeds as the corded model.

My big question is how long will the battery last. I'd hate for it to die half way through a project and then have to wait 3 hrs for a recharge. Also does it have the torque of the corded models like the 400.

    Any feedback would be awesome.

    Thanks gang.

In his video Lynn says that the cordless is useful for cleaning jimps and polishing around the tang at the pivot area because it doesn't develop as much torque. A friend of mine had one and he didn't like it because he said that the battery ran out too fast and the thing didn't have enough power. He bought a corded model. This is not from my own experience but what I heard. I have a corded model and it has been very useful.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I have the Dremel 4.8V version. I bought it because, at the time, it was the only Dremel that I knew of that ran at 5k rpm. The battery lasts 15 to 20 minutes so you can't do long sessions. I get by just fine with 2 batteries and a bit of patience. I use mine for light touch ups and I'm perfectly happy with it for what I expect of it. I don't expect it to be a workhorse. I would assume the Dremel 8000, which is 10.8V, is certainly better than mine.
