Holy cow isn't this the truth! I have a Torrey that is so uneven I can't believe it made it out of the factory. The entire blade leans in one direction, while the tang is straight. (or I guess technically it could be the other way around--- the tang being VERY crooked).

I have the same issue as OP with that razor -- I'd have to make some uneven scales just to get the thing closing without rubbing.
