scales i made today
i made these today. i wanted to bang out scales for 4 razors i want to sell (smiling wade & butcher--dovo best--boker worlds colombian 1892 and possible the genco master barber...im guite attached to that one though idk why)
please keep in mind im not done, i cut with the band saw, shaped and only got to bevel one set of them. i also need to work on the bottom of one set because im not happy with the flow so i want to make it smile.
remember im not done at all and still have much more to do on them, just wanted to show you what im up to.
i want to smile off the bottoms on these--boker wce <zebra wood>
wade & butcher (zebra wood)
these need a ton of work, i havent even shaped the bottoms or tops of the scales yet. but again its just a taste of things to come...these are going on my dovo best. (shedua)

Hey man those are really nice scales. The last picture you have what type of wood is that it looks almost like a set I made out of cocobola(sp) but very nice. Cant wait to see them when they are all done.

Nice job,Outlaw.Remember, some of these exotic woods can be toxic if you breathe them in while sanding.Info in the wiki I think.

Nice, but before you start to finish (either with CA or epoxy or oil) dry fit everything together and see how it feel with the blade in.
I've only successfully made two set, but each one looked good, but didn't feel good. My scales were to thick and too wide around the pivot.
My two cents.
