Thanked: 5Variations of Pinning Material ?
I wanted to ask what are some of the various pinning materials available? I know of the brass rods and washers and the Escutcheon pins.
Please let me know thank you.

Thanked: 13246The brass rods and the Nickel silver rods are at the top of the list and of course you can actually find pins such as the factory Dovo and TI pins out there....
I will mention here as I have mentioned everywhere else when it comes to Escutcheon pins, make sure you get the all brass ones , and these are not a top choice at all, they just work in a pinch...
It is always a good idea to anneal these to red hot first before using them to get them to peen better...

There's a German fella on the bay that sells pins for a reasonable price.
Silver and Brass Pins- Cut throat Razor Repair Needs. on eBay, also Straight Razors, Shaving, Vanity, Perfume Shaving, Collectibles (end time 04-May-09 17:02:23 BST)
He has a website & can make some really beautiful bullseye washers etc on his jewellers lathe. I've not bought anything from him yet, but he's very friendly!
Have a look at his website & see what he's capable of.

Jose, you can't buy them through the site, you have to email & deal with him that way. He'll no doubt get back to you when he can. Maybe he's away or something?
I got nickel silver rod through the bay & a lot of the guys use these guys, Micro Fasteners - Hobbyists Source - Locknuts - Washers - Machine Screws - Fasteners - Rivets - Wood Screws for small screws & washers.
