Thread: New use for a Zeepk

Ok, I'm not entirely sure that this is a new use, but I'll give it a go anyways.

so I have a razor that I am going to grind in order to save a cracked blade (shortening the razor) or to do some point modifications. I was looking at my projects, and some of them are pretty nice blades with good history and a few tragic flaws that require action. It dawned on me that I had a zeepk razor that my poor mother gave me as a gift that was gathering dust somewhere in the house. I said to myself...self, why would we experiment with blades I care about when I have a perfectly good POS razor that I could destroy instead.

So I have been having fun cutting the crap out of the zeepk with a dremel and a cut-off wheel.

For those who care to know, I started by cutting on the spine, and gently worked my way to the edge in many passes (I mean MANY passes). After every few passes I cooled the blade by dipping it into a mason jar full of water (I didn't take any chances because I wanted this to be as close to a real simulation as possible).

First I made it into a spike point, but I wasn't done murdering this razor, so I gave it more of a wapi look.

Anyway, I hope that this will give some of the tragic few who own a zeepk the opportunity to explore new skills... I think I'll do some backwork and jimps too... heck, I could probably sell it for 400 bucks on ebay after that, it's been a zoo out there recently...enjoy

very good but be careful eyes get hurt from small chips comes off of the blade.

VERY good point Sham! I totally forgot to say that I was wearing eye protection, and I'd even recommend using a respirator also. Great Point!

If I am grinding or sanding (especially in my workshop where there is no airflow) I wear a breathing mask to keep out the metal grit and wood dust.

thats all actually kind of inspiring, ur just reshaping it slowly with a dremmel? what kind of bit are you using?
