    Default Bengall Wedge question

I purchased a Bengall wedge from Leighton. Great transaction by the way.

He told me it was in need of restoration. It is but it is not that bad.

So here is the overriding question. The wedge was at one point a 6/8. The toe is 6/8 and the heel 5/8 with a smile from the toe to middle. Now I am not much on smiles so I was thinking of removing it.

I have never restored a wedge so I am concerned that removing 1/8" of material will damage the razor.

I can post pics later when I get home but I think that I explained it well enough.

    What say you.

    Default

I purchased a Friodur with a big bite out of the edge.

    I think it was a 6/8 but maybe a 7/8.

I had to take that rat bite out and I did with this result

Oh and she shaves very nice after all that work. So my answer would be if you can live with the loss of 1/8 inch and you want to do the work, go for it the blade won't care and might be happier that you did.
