Rolling X or Wobbly X
I understand that the Rolling X is for a Smile that is that the toe and the heel are shorter than the middle of the blade.
If you have an Elvis at the toe can you do a partial Rolling X or a Wobbly X to where 90% of the blade sits on the stone and then move to toe? Or would one still want the stick with the Rolling stroke?

Thanked: 3795Don't mess with the King!
I suspect that what he is describing is that his blade only has half a smile. That is, the heel is straight but the toe is worn away more so that the toe end looks like a smiling blade. I got that from his honing question. I have no idea what Elvis has to do with it.
Maybe this should be moved to the honing section?Last edited by Utopian; 05-07-2009 at 05:05 PM.

Thanked: 132Possibly he is refering to Elvis, because Elvis always had a partial or sideways smile?

You know an Elvis...
Notice how the top of the lip dives down. Understand?
I'll post a pic tonight when I get batteries for the camera.Last edited by singlewedge; 05-07-2009 at 06:05 PM.
